Background
Concordia AI is dedicated to identifying and addressing the most pressing challenges arising from rapid advances in AI, ensuring its development is safe, reliable, and responsible. The convergence of AI and life sciences is one of our current strategic priorities. We recognize that, while this convergence can significantly advance public health and medicine, it also poses serious challenges by lowering barriers to biological risk, increasing potential harm, and weakening existing biodefense systems. Our ongoing work includes:
- Producing in-depth research and policy reports
Concordia AI has recently co-published “Responsible Innovation in AI x Life Sciences” with the Center for Biosafety Research and Strategy of Tianjin University at the AI Safety and Governance Forum of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. - Developing risk management frameworks and promoting risk assessment practices
Concordia AI has jointly released “Frontier AI Risk Management Framework” with Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, alongside a Risk Analysis Technical Report that covers biosecurity risks. - Hosting and participating in high-level seminars and closed-door symposiums
Concordia AI has co-hosted the “AI and Biosecurity Convergence Seminar” with Center for Biosafety Research and Strategy of Tianjin University; and has been invited to the “Biosecurity Closed-Door Symposium” hosted by the National Key Laboratory of Synthetic Biotechnology and “Closed-Door Symposium on DNA Synthesis Screening Technologies and Policies” at the China Foreign Affairs University. - Engaging deeply in global AIxBio governance dialogues
Concordia AI has been invited in the AIxBio Global Forum and to sign “Statement on Biosecurity Risks at the Convergence of AI and the Life Sciences”, as well as in a side event at the Sixth Meeting of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) Working Group.
We are looking for a mission-driven professional with a solid life sciences background and a passion for biosecurity. Joining as a core member of Concordia AI, you will conduct research at the cutting-edge intersection of AI and life sciences, providing support for critical decisions in AIxBio governance across policy, industry, and academic sectors, helping to bring forth a safer future.
We prefer to hire a full-time researcher; however, depending on the candidate’s level of experience, we would also welcome project-based contractors, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time role for contractors with strong performances.
